WLB at the Beijing Plus Ten / CSW - 49 : 28 February - 11 March 2005

15 WLB representatives participated in the Beijing Plus Ten Conference/ the 49th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women in New York. Ten representatives were from the B+ 10 Process & Beyond team, who attended the whole session. Most of them had joined a series of workshops and consultation meetings since August 2003 so that they would be able to participate actively in the session. The team was accompanied and assisted by WLB volunteer Jennifer Quigley, a Master's candidate at the School for International Training.

Third Session of the United Nation Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues

WCAR: World Conference Against Racism: 26 Aug - 7 Sept 2001

6 women from WLB participated in the World Conference Against Racism (WCAR), held in Durban, South Africa. At WCAR, WLB submitted a petition signed by 51,487 internally displaced persons, refugees and migrants living on the Thai-Burma and Burma-Indian borders.


With the support of network partners, WLB has been able to attend the UNCHR and made oral statements at the plenary.

Defending Women, Defending Rights: The International Consultation on Women Human Rights Defenders in Colombo, Sri Lanka: 29 Nov - 2 Dec 2005

The 10th International Forum on Women's Rights and Development (AWID 2005)] : in Bangkok, Thailand: 27 – 30 October 2005

Nineteen representatives from 11 member organizations and one representative from network partner Women and Child Right Project (WCRP), Mon Human Rights Foundation attended the forum. The delegation was funded by AWID at a total amount 488,500 Baht.
