From September 26-30, 2016, WLB organized a “Post CEDAW Review” workshop at the Orchid Hotel, Yangon. Forty participants attended this workshop from four network organizations, including Women’s Organization Network (WON), Gender Equality Network (GEN), CEDAW Action for Myanmar (CAM) and Women’s League of Burma (WLB). During the workshop, WLB’s member organizations reviewed their contributions through the CEDAW process, evaluated the CEDAW Geneva trip, and discussed what further action was needed to improve their advocacy strategy. Participants also looked at the issues highlighted in the concluding observation by CEDAW’s committee, and came up a coordination team among networks for future activities.
