Young women and girls are suffering different types of sexual violence during the conflict. WLB formed Peace and Reconciliation Program since 2002 and one of its objectives is to raise awareness among grassroots people to understand the issue of conflict management, conflict resolution, peace building, social justice, gender justice, and non-violence.
WLB uses different approaches to involve women in peace, conflict resolution, and political decision-making discussions and advocates for victims of sexual violence by working to hold perpetrators accountable. WLB works in various capacities to ensure justice referral pathways are accessible for survivors. Also, WLB do awareness-raising on women’s peace and security and urge armed organizations to strengthen their rules and regulations to protect women and girls to ensure they do not become victims of the conflict. At the same time, WLB resolves cases based on the needs of victims and survivors.
We would like to request the international community to provide support related to women’s peace and security, particularly in areas where the war is intensifying.
