This video documentary highlights the military’s widespread use of conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) in Burma/Myanmar. This important initiative aims to raise the voices of survivors, shed light on the scale of these crimes, and call for urgent global action. 

Women’s League of Burma and our twelve member organizations continue to document these crimes, advocate for justice, and deliver critical support to displaced and traumatized survivors, despite severe security and funding constraints.

Aunty Linda was one of the founders and served as the Joint General Secretary (II) from 2003 to 2004, and Office Manager from 2005 to 2016 at the Women's League of Burma (WLB). She is a brave, kind, and friendly person who dedicated her life to fighting for gender equality, justice, and peace. Also, she is a role model for many women. Her passing is a great loss for WLB and ethnic women. This short video aims to honor her courageous work and enduring commitment to equality, justice, peace, and federal democracy.

 (International Women's Day )အပြည်ပြည်ဆိုင်ရာ အမျိုးသမီးများနေ့)ဟာ မတ်လ ၈ရက်နေ့မှာ ကျရောက်ပြီး  ကမ္ဘာအရပ်ရပ်မှာ နှစ်စဉ် ကျင်းပခဲ့ပါတယ်။  ဒီနေ့ကို ကမ္ဘာလုံးဆိုင်ရာအမျိုးသမီးများရဲ့ အခွင့်အရေးများ၊ လွတ်လပ်ခွင့်များနဲ့ စီးပွားရေး၊ နိုင်ငံရေး၊  လူမှုရေး  အခြေခံကဏ္ဍများမှာ ပိုမိုတိုးတက်ခွင့်ရရှိရန်အတွက် အရေးကြီးသောနေ့အဖြစ် သတ်မှတ်ကျင်းပကြပါတယ်။

On 17 February 1995, a group of women who were actively involved in 8888 uprising, together with other like-minded women who fled to India for various political reasons, founded Women’s Rights and Welfare Association of Burma (WRWAB). Toward the end of 2012, some members of WRWAB relocated back to Myanmar and continued to implement activities in their respective areas. In early 2016, three WRWAB members regrouped in Kale, Sagaing and recruited new members.

Lahu Women Organization was established in October 30 1997 a Lahu village in Thailand started with nine members.Our mission is to create more opportunities for Lahu Women’s participation in all leadership roles.

Objectives

1) To preserve the Lahu cultural traditions

2) To improve the education of Lahu children, youths and women

3) To address the health needs of Lahu people

4) To resist discrimination between women and men

5) To work for the development of Lahu women in every sphere together with other Indigenous women

The Karen Women's Organization (KWO) was formed in 1949 and re-organized in 1985. Currently, KWO has a membership of more than 70,000 women living in Karen State, Burma, and in refugee camps along the Thai-Burma border.
